Poseidon Research Topics?

I have been assigned to write an english paper that has to do with Greek mythology so I decided to write it on Poseidon: God of The Sea, but apparently that is to "broad" for my old stupid english teacher, so could anyone help me narrow my topic down? (What Poseidon did, his powers, etc...)
