What is the appeal of King Crimson?

I love King Crimson, such a great band. I guess they're a band that not everyone is going to get or understand. I will be honest they're not an easy band to get into, but once you do you'll be a fan for life. And like David N said, progressive Rock certainly is an acquired taste.
