When does Poseidon appear in the Odyssey?
He appears "physically" on Book 5. Upon learning that Odysseus was able to escape the seductress Calypso's island, he conjured up a storm in hopes of drowning and finally putting an end to Odysseus. But the goddesses Athena and Ino helped the hero, further evoking the anger of the Sea god.
